This analysis is only for the main bottom-lane player in each team, who have appeared in more than 10 matches.
Since every team has players in rotation, the data is not representative for those substitutes with too few appearances.
Figure 1: A ring chart reflecting the best average kills, assistances, deaths, farms among all main bottom-lane players.
As we can see from Figure 1.
The bottom-lane player Viper from team EDG and Gala from the team RNG has the highest average kills, which means he could kill 4 enemy champions per game.
The bottom-lane player Betty from team RW and Lwx from the team FPX has the highest average assistance, which means he could help his teammates to kill 6.9 enemy champions per game.
The bottom-lane player huanfeng from team SN has the lowest average deaths, which means he could only die 1.2 per game.
The bottom-lane player Lwx from team FPX and Kepler from the team V5 has the highest farming, which means he could kill 440 enemy units per game.
Let us take the bottom-lane players of the top five teams in the LPL Summer Tournament(EDG, FPX, RNG, LNG, WE), and see what the difference is between these top bottom-lane players.
KDA | Money | Farming | Ward | Wardkill | Fight(%) | MVP | Excess | Damage(%) | Economic(%) | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
EDG Viper | 6 | 13875 | 365 | 19 | 12 | 64 | 4 | 67161 | 30.0 | 23 |
FPX Lwx | 3 | 12884 | 440 | 17 | 9 | 63 | 7 | -2090 | 25.0 | 22 |
RNG GALA | 4 | 13774 | 382 | 13 | 11 | 61 | 2 | 17377 | 28.9 | 23 |
LNG Light | 6 | 13577 | 348 | 14 | 10 | 66 | 3 | 13345 | 27.0 | 23 |
WE Elk | 4 | 13971 | 417 | 12 | 11 | 69 | 9 | 32987 | 31.0 | 23 |
Figure 2: A radar diagram comparing the data of bottom-lane players of the top five teams.
As we can see from Table 1 and Figure 2:
These five bottom-lane players have their own specialty in terms of ability, Viper from team EDG focus more on vision, Lwx from team FPX focus more on farming, Gala from team RNG is a balanced bottom-lane player, Light from team LNG has highest KDA, Elk from team WE has most MVP.
A fun fact we can see from Figure 2 is that Viper,Light have the same amount of KDA (though KDA of Gala and Elk is same too, we prefer higher KDA), now we put more attention on their exact kills, deaths and assistances, to see if there exists some difference between them.
Note: The formula to calculate the amount of KDA is: \[\begin{equation} \ KDA = \frac{Kill(total) + Assistance(total)}{Death(total)} \end{equation}\]
Figure 3: A bar plot comparing the average kills, deaths and assistances of two support players with the same KDA.
As we can see from Figure 3:
Viper and Light are pretty close in each aspects, but Viper has a stronger ability to kill while Light has a stronger ability to assist teammates to kill.
